Q: Why is Canary Square called Canary Square?
A: William Canary was a Jamaica Plain resident who served in the 101st Infantry Division, and lost his life at St. Mihiel, France, September 12th, 1918.
Q: Do you take reservations?
A: For groups of six or more or for a special occasion. Please call the restaurant at 617 524 2500. Sorry, we don't accept reservations via email.
Q: Can you accommodate people with allergies such as gluten allergy?
A: We sure can...ask the server when you order and we will be happy to accomodate you!
Q: Do you rent out the restaurant for special events?
A: Absolutely! We are happy to speak with you about your individual needs. Contact us at info@canarysquare.com
Q: Is BEING GREEN a focus at your restaurant?
A: Yes it is. We feature recycled materials throughout the restaurant (wood, metal and plastics). We feature waterless urinals in the men's room and energy-saving light fixtures as well.
Q: What time do you close?
A: The kitchen closes at 11pm Sunday - Thursday. It closes at midnight on Friday - Saturday. The bar is open nightly until 1a.m.
Q: Do you offer valet parking?
A: No. We do not. There is ample street parking around the restaurant. South Huntington Avenue, Centre Street and Moraine Street usually have spaces available. Please be respectful of our neighbors when parking to not block driveways and hydrants in any way. Do not park at CVS at all. You will be towed.
Q: Does the MBTA run nearby?
A: Yes it does. The 39 bus to Forest Hills from Back Bay Station literally stops directly in front of the restaurant. The 39 bus from Forest Hills to Back Bay Station stops on the corner of Roseway Street and Centre Street some 50 yards from Canary Square. The Orange Line stop STONYBROOK is nearby as well.
